"Momentary Performances": Art using Vinyl Text installed in Public Spaces

Atlanta, GA--  Monday's, 1:30pm at Cabbagetown Market,  Momentary Performances begins displaying its unique art at various metro locations. 

According to their website, "Momentary Performances stems from Lee Walton's interest in the subtle, everyday actions of public life. Through the simple of use of Vinyl text installed in public space, everyday actions are formalized, thus taking on a new life.

Jazoo 2010

Join Zoo Atlanta in celebration of JAZZOO 2010, this Saturday, September 25 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Zoo Atlanta.

The event will feature kiosks from more than 30 of Atlanta’s best restaurants, specialty cocktails at full-service open bars, and animal viewing until dusk. Live entertainment will include music from 80s cover band The Breakfast Club; Eddie’s Attic Acoustic Stage; MudCat; Sound Investment; and Andrew Brothers Dueling Pianos.

New for 2010 is the opportunity to view and vote on fashions evoked by Zoo Atlanta animals, created by designers from the Savannah College of Art and Design. The garments that will be featured at JAZZOO were designed using a variety of materials: balloons, feathers, rope, coffee filters, paper maché, and aluminum cans.

JAZZOO is an event where whimsical, animal-inspired attire is encouraged.

Live Music and Performances On Stage for Midtown Festival of the Arts Sept. 25-26

ATLANTA – Live music is a centerpiece of the Midtown Festival of the Arts. The inaugural event taking place Sept. 25 and 26 features three outdoor stages and performances at a beautiful and historic Midtown neighborhood church.

                Headline bands include Raleigh’s popular “jangle-pop outfit” The Connells in a rare performance on the Main Stage Saturday evening, with first-of-their-genre ’80s tribute band The Breakfast Club set to rock the Festival’s Main Stage on Sunday evening.
