CONYERS, Ga. -- Rockdale County employees laced up their walking shoes on Sept. 12 to participate in the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program at Turner Field.

The event is designed to promote health, wellness and fitness among companies across metropolitan Atlanta and their employees. More than 16,000 walkers and runners of all fitness levels, representing more than 400 local companies and organizations, participated in the event. A portion of the proceeds benefitted the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Back on My Feet and the Atlanta Braves Foundation.

Rockdale County government was among the local organizations that took part in the workplace-organized fitness program with more than 30 employees who walked in support of the County’s employee wellness initiative.

Rockdale County employees will continue to reaffirm their commitment to Get Active Rockdale, the County’s wellness initiative, with the return of the Rock Solid Community Walk on Nov. 2. Walk proceeds will benefit the United Way of Greater Atlanta and local organizations that enhance the quality of life of Rockdale citizens.
