Random Acts of Kindness: Apryle Barry

Random Acts of Kindness: Apryle Barry

ATLANTA -- Monday's Random Act of Kindness is an unforgettable trip to the zoo for a woman and two special children.

Apryle Barry is raising her niece and nephew because her sister is unable to care for them. Her friend Natasha described Apryle as "the most selfless person that I think I know."

Natasha wanted to do something nice for Apryle, so she called the 11Alive Help Desk to surprise her friend during a visit to Zoo Atlanta.

Karyn Greer presented Apryle with $100 Publix and Visa gift cards -- and that was just the beginning of the surprises.

Raymond King, president and CEO of Zoo Atlanta, came out to meet Apryle and her niece and nephew. He offered them a free day at the zoo, including lunch vouchers, an up-close elephant experience, stuffed panda toys for the children and even tickets for a future visit.
