ATLANTA -- The investigation into Atlanta Public Schools concluded that CRCT cheating occurred at Humphries Elementary School in 2009.
Proctors who witnessed cheating asked to be removed from fourth grade classrooms during the CRCT and ITBS, according to the report published Tuesday.
Investigators concluded that teachers Wendy Ahmed, Ingrid Abella and Lisa Terry and proctor Tonia Clark cheated on the 2009 CRCT. Tonia Clark and proctor Lillian Lockhart reported to principal Donald Clark that they saw Ahmed give students answers through hand signals, which Ahmed denied.
According to Lockhart’s testimony, after she reported Ahmed, the principal told her, “If you don’t tell me anything, I won’t have to report anything.”
During the 2010 CRCT, Lockhart was assigned to monitor a kindergarten class and was not allowed to proctor the CRCT. She told investigators that she believed this was done in retaliation for reporting the testing violation in 2009.
Donald Clark denied any knowledge of cheating and claimed he did not believe anyone cheated at Humphries.
