Technology Expert’s Warning to Parents: Do You Know What Your Child is Doing Online?

TANKOH Launches Mommy & Me Computers

In today’s global and virtual world, the need for parents to have full control over their child’s online activity has become a high necessity as compared to previous decades. With children as young as three years of age being increasingly savvy with technology, parents need to protect their families from becoming a statistic of online predators.  According to reports, three in ten victims of online child predator cases appear to be aged 6 and under – with five percent apparently younger than two years of age which runs parallel to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) report, a division in charge of  closing illegal internet content. More than three quarters of these child victims are girls.

For everyone who has been following the local news lately, here are some updates and suggestions for personal safety:

There have been several home invasion robberies in the area.

On Monday night there was a home invasion and sexual assault on Boulevard at Hansell. This occurred after midnight.

Also Monday night on Berne Street near Marion, on the east side of Grant Park near the RR overpass, there was a robbery in the same time frame. With the Berne Street robberies we have an unconfirmed report that one of the suspects was a very young black male and he was extremely nervous and shaking as he committed the robbery.
